Unified Council conducts the State Level Science Talent Search Examination on the similar lines of NSTSE. At present the State Level Science Talent Examination is being conducted in the state of Andhra Pradesh only.

Eligibility

Students studying Classes III,IV,V,VI,VII,VIII,IX,X

Question Paper will be English Only.

Time: 10:30 A.M. to 12:00 Noon

Exam Fee

Rs. 75 (Rupees Seventy only)
Students desirous of referring of Model Question Paper should add Rs. 10.
If you require Student’s Performance Report, Please Add Rs. 10.

How to Apply

Please send a single consolidated Demand Draft  for the exam fee of all the students appearing for the SLSTSE-2011 from your school.

We require a minimum of 50 students to allot self test centre. The Teacher In-charge of the examination has to conduct the same according to schedule.

D.D. should be drawn in favour of UNIFIED COUNCIL payable at Hyderabad.

Examination Structure:

This examination will be conducted in two levels.

• First level examination will be conducted in the respective school premises.
• Selection for the Second Level examination:
• The student who secures top rank in a particular class from every school will be selected for 2nd level examination.
• Second Level exam will be conducted in the nearest selected district head quarters/main cities and towns.

Criteria for more selections:

One student for every 25 students in each class will be selected for 2nd level of exam. Example: If 100 students participate from one class in a particular school, 4 students will be selected for second level examination.

Syllabus

SLSTSE will be based in Andhra Pradesh state syllabi. Only 85% of the syllabus is considered for examination question papers.

Exam Pattern

* All questions are in objective type only.
* Each class will have a distinct set of question papers.

Certificates

Students who get more than 60% of marks will be given Merit Certificates and for those who get more than 35% of marks will be given Participation Certificates.

Awards

In search of talent, Unified Council rewards the top performers with gold medals, cash awards and Book Prizes.

A. SLSTSE Topper will be awarded with Rs. 1 Lakh cash prize*. The student who achieves the highest percentage of marks among all the classes is declared as the SLSTSE Topper.

B. First Ranker in each class will be awarded with a cash prize Rs. 5000 + a Medal + a Memento.

C. Second Ranker in each class will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 2500 + a Medal + a Memento.

D. Third Ranker in each class will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1500 + a Medal + a Memento.

E. The next in each class (Ranks 4-10) of classes III-X will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 500 + a Medal.

F. The next rankers in each class (Ranks 11-25) of classes III & IV will be awarded with Hand Book of Science Junior and classes V-X will be awarded with IIT Foundation & Olympiad Explorer – Mathematics + a Medal + a certificate of appreciation.

G. All the above State 1-25 rankers & District rankers in each class will be awarded with Britannica Encyclopedia – 2011 edition CD pack worth Rs. 995 + Appreciation Certificate.

H. DIST. WISE: 1st & 2nd Ranker from class III & IV in each District will be awarded with BMA’s Talent & Olympiad exams Resource Book and classes V-X will be awarded with IIT Foundation & Olympiad Explorer – Mathematics.

All the above rankers from classes III-VI will be offered a discount coupon of 50% (Rs.900) on Unified Knowledge Box Activity Kit and where as rankers from VII-IX will be offered a discount coupon of 50% (Rs. 750) on Ambition IIT/AIEEE correspondence material.

Participation certificates for all the students.

SLSTSE Topper: A student of any class who achieves 100% marks will be awarded with a prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh. If none of the students achieves the same, then the student who achieves the highest percentage of marks among all the classes will be awarded with Rs. 50,000. If there is more than one student who achieves the same, the prize money will be distributed equally. Each topper will get either this prize or the regular prize (refer B).

Institutional Awards

Best Performance Award – School

• Five top performing schools in SLSTSE will be presented with Best Performance School award.
  
• The Teacher in charge of the respective schools will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1,500.

Best Participation Award - School

• Will be presented to all the schools which forward more than 150 applications.
  
• All the Principals & co-coordinating Teacher In-charges of the exam will be awarded a certificate of appreciation.

Student Performance Report

We are providing Student's performance report (SPR) for individual students, which provides all the details of.

• His/Her chosen answers for all questions in the SLSTSE
• Correct answers for all questions in the exam
• Subject wise marks
• Over all ranking in the STATE level
• Group Highest Marks
• Question Wise Analysis and Skill Wise Analysis
• This report will be helpful for each and every student to analyse his/her performance and improve upon it.

If a student requires this SPR he/she has to add Rs. 10/- to Examination Fee.
